Motorola Mobility announces Wi-Fi-only Xoom tablet



SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Motorola Mobility announced a WiFi-only version of its Xoom tablet that will launch in U.S. retail outlets on March 27. In a statement Wednesday, Motorola said the Xoom WiFi will cost 9 with 32GB of memory – on par with a WiFi-only version of the popular Apple iPad with the same configuration. Motorola had launched a 3G version of the Xoom that works on Verizon’s wireless network last month. The Xoom runs on the Honeycomb operating system developed by Google Inc. . The WiFi-only version of the Xoom will be available at retailers Best Buy , Costco , RadioShack , Staples , Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, as well as online retailer Amazon.com .
